We appreciate your interest in volunteering for the Linn-Mar School District. Our district offers a variety of opportunities for volunteer involvement. To ensure the safety of our students and staff, all individuals must go through the district’s volunteer application and be approved before beginning a volunteer assignment. This includes completing the volunteer application, attending a district volunteer orientation, and a background and National Sex Offender registry check.
Below are helpful tips and next steps for successfully completing the application process:
It is best to complete your application on a desktop or laptop as applying on a mobile device may present screen formatting issues and submission issues. If applying on a mobile device, please have your phone in landscape mode so that all text can be accurately displayed.
It is very important that the information you enter on the application matches your government issued identification card including your full legal name.
It is important that you provide a valid and unique email address so you can be notified as to the status of your application and for future communication. To applicants cannot use a shared email addresses.
All information collected on the application will remain confidential and not be shared outside the volunteer program.
New volunteers must sign-up and attend a Volunteer Orientation Session prior to volunteering. (Only need to attend once as a new volunteer)
Volunteers will renew their status on an annual basis to ensure all information remains current.
At Linn-Mar Community School District, volunteers play a crucial role in the success of our educational programs, helping to "Inspire Learning. Unlock Potential. Empower Achievement." Many of our programs, events, and activities thrive because of the dedicated leadership and support from our volunteers. Whether you assist in the classroom, library, participate in field trips, support Parent-Teacher Organization events, or help with athletic and music events, your efforts are highly valued and appreciated by the staff, administration and School Board.
If you have any questions about the application, please email angela.burke@linnmar.k12.ia.us or call 319-447-3110.
Thank you,
Angela Burke
