Welcome to the North Kitsap School District Volunteer Application!

To begin, please complete and submit the application below. Athletic Volunteers must talk to the Head Coach and Athletic Director prior to completing this application. Once approved, Raptor Technologies will email you with a link to your volunteer portal and instructions for your next steps.

Before you apply, please note:

Accurate Information: Your application information, especially your full legal name, must exactly match your government-issued ID. A valid email is required for all communication.
Validity: An approved application is valid for two years.
Background Checks: All applicants undergo a background check and may be denied due to prior criminal offenses. If so, you will be notified by email with an explanation and a copy of the Washington State Patrol Criminal History Report.
Liability: District volunteers are covered by liability insurance (similar to employees), but this does not provide medical benefits. Please maintain your own health insurance.
Transporting Students: If you plan to drive students on field trips, you must also complete a separate "Use of Private Vehicle" form.

Important: School Volunteers are not approved to volunteer until you receive the approval email from Raptor Technologies. Athletic Volunteers are not approved to volunteer until all WIAA certifications have been completed, and the Athletic Director has given their approval.

North Kitsap School District Volunteer Agreement, Release, and Waiver

By submitting this application, I affirm that all information provided is accurate to the best of my knowledge, and I agree to comply with the rules and regulations of the North Kitsap School District Volunteer Program.

I. Background Check and Authorization

I authorize North Kitsap School District to conduct a background check through the Washington State Patrol’s WATCH system and the National Sex Offender Public Website (NSOPW), as required by RCW 43.43.830-845. This process may include database searches, reference checks, and other inquiries deemed necessary to determine my suitability to volunteer.

I release and hold harmless NKSD, its agents, employees, and any persons or organizations providing information from liability related to these inquiries. I understand that providing false or incomplete information may result in denial or dismissal of volunteer service at the District’s discretion.

II. Assumption of Risk and Insurance Acknowledgment

I acknowledge that I have received and thoroughly read the North Kitsap School District's Guidelines and Expectations for volunteering. I understand the information and I agree to comply with the guidelines.

I acknowledge that there are certain inherent risks involved in volunteer activities that may be unavoidable, potentially resulting in bodily injury, death, or property damage. As a condition of being permitted to volunteer, I freely accept and voluntarily assume all such risks that may result from my volunteer experience, including any activity while volunteering on school property.

I further acknowledge that North Kitsap School District does not provide any accidental medical insurance coverage for volunteers and that I assume all risks of injury or damage to my person or property. I understand that I do not qualify for worker’s compensation benefits and am expected to carry personal medical insurance.

III. Release, Indemnification, and Waiver of Claims

In consideration of my participation as a volunteer, I agree to hold and save harmless the North Kitsap School District, its School Board, employees, and assigns for any claims, suits, or damages—including but not limited to defense and indemnification—which might result from my service as a volunteer.

I hereby agree to waive any and all claims arising out of any such injury or damage to my person or property.

IV. Volunteer Status and District Property

I am aware that as a volunteer, I will not receive any salary, benefits, or other compensation for my services. I understand that I am a volunteer and not an employee of the District. My volunteer service may be terminated at any time without cause or recourse.

I agree that all information, property, and materials received and/or created by me in connection with the performance of my volunteer work are property of the District and I will return them promptly upon request or termination of my service.
