Peoria Unified School District offers a wide range of volunteer opportunities. Whether you'd like to work directly with students or prefer to help behind the scenes, there’s a role for you.

Our volunteers come from all walks of life—parents, grandparents, college students, retirees, and caring community members. If you’re passionate about supporting children and education, we welcome you to join us.

Volunteer Requirements:

All volunteers must be 18 years of age or older, and have government issued identification.
An application must be completed each school year, even if you’ve volunteered with us before.
Be sure the information you provide on your application matches your government-issued ID, including your full legal name.
You will need to include a valid email address so we can keep you updated on your application status and future communication. If you don’t have an email address, please speak with your School Volunteer Coordinator for assistance.
All personal information submitted is confidential and will only be used for the volunteer program.

Level 1 - Volunteer

All volunteers start at Level 1. Prior to participating as a Volunteer, this level requires:

- A completed and approved background check. Please note: If any items are flagged during the background check, the review process may take additional time.

Level 2 - Volunteer (Overnight / Out-of-State)

If you plan to volunteer for an overnight or out-of-state trip, you must be approved as a Level 2 volunteer. Prior to participating as a Volunteer, this level requires:

- A completed and approved background check. Please note: If any items are flagged during the background check, the review process may take additional time.

- A valid IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card (must be current and unexpired). You can apply for a card at: (https://psp.azdps.gov/).

- If you do not have a IVP Fingerprint Clearance card at this time, still submit your application. You will need to send a copy of your card to Volunteer@pusd11.net once received.

Volunteer Coach

If you plan to volunteer as a coach, you must be approved as a Volunteer Coach. Prior to participating as a Volunteer Coach, this level requires:

- A completed and approved background check. Please note: If any items are flagged during the background check, the review process may take additional time.

- A valid IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card (must be current and unexpired). You can apply for a card at: (https://psp.azdps.gov/).

- If you do not have a IVP Fingerprint Clearance card at this time, still submit your application. You will need to send a copy of your card to Volunteer@pusd11.net once received.

Current Employee

If you are a current Peoria Unified School District employee planning on volunteering at any level, you must be approved. Prior to participating as a Volunteer, this level requires:

- HR Verification of employment with Peoria Unified School District.

Student Teacher or College Intern/Practicum Volunteer

If you plan to volunteer as a Student Teacher or College Intern/Practicum, you must first be pre-approved by your College or University as well as the District Certified Recruiter. Prior to participating as a Student Teacher or College Intern/Practicum Volunteer Coach, this level requires:

- A completed and approved background check. Please note: If any items are flagged during the background check, the review process may take additional time.

- A valid IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card (must be current and unexpired). You can apply for a card at: (https://psp.azdps.gov/).

- If you do not have a IVP Fingerprint Clearance card at this time, still submit your application. You will need to send a copy of your card to Volunteer@pusd11.net once received.

- Be on the District approved Student Teacher or College Intern/Practicum tracking spreadsheet.
