Dear KALEOS, Employees, Volunteers and Guests of KAA,
Kids Across America is pleased to announce that we will begin using the Raptor Visitor Management System as you enter the grounds of KAA to strengthen our program of camp safety that is in place for all campers, staff, and visitors.
Part of keeping our campers and staff safe is knowing who is always on our camp grounds, and the Raptor system will allow us to do that. The system will better allow us to screen visitors, guests, and volunteers coming to KAA and provide us with a safer environment for all who come to enjoy our camp each summer.
Prior to your arrival at camp, KAA requires a background check for all kaleos, visitors, guests, volunteers, and incoming staff. You may utilize our Background Pre-Check by completing our portal for background checks prior to coming to camp. If you are unable to utilize this service, you will be asked to present an ID such as a Driver’s License, which can either be scanned or manually entered into the system. If for any reason the individual seeking access to camp does not have a US government-issued ID, the registration staff member can use any form of identification and manually enter the person’s name into the Raptor system. The Raptor system will check to ensure that registered sexual offenders are not entering our camp without our knowledge.
The Raptor system checks the visitor's name and date of birth for comparison with a national database of registered sex offenders. The registered sex offender database is the only official database checked by the Raptor system. Once entry is approved, Raptor will issue a badge that identifies the visitor or volunteer, the date, and the purpose of his/her visit. A badge will not be necessary for those who visit our camp simply to drop off an item in the registration office or pick up paperwork.
The safety of our campers and staff is our highest priority and the Raptor visitor management system allows us to quickly identify those that may present a danger to our campers.*
Thank you in advance for your understanding and your support in enhancing the camp safety protocols and our Child Protection Policy at Kids Across America.

*I understand a submission to a background check does not guarantee my ability to visit/volunteer, and that an unsatisfactory result from refusal to cooperate with or attempt to affect the results of these background checks will result in withdrawal of any visit/volunteer offer or termination if already visiting/volunteering.
