For the safety of our learners and in an effort to expedite our volunteer approval process, Dayspring Academy utilizes an enhanced background screening process, accessing state and national databases. As a result of the enhanced background screening, the cost will be $6 per volunteer application, paid directly to Raptor Technologies. Dayspring does not receive any portion of this fee. Your family will receive 1 volunteer hour for each application submitted (please remember to log your hour). Additionally, you will receive a customized volunteer badge and lanyard to wear while volunteering for events on and off campus. Please contact your campus front office after your application has been approved to receive your badge.
PLEASE NOTE: If you are a minor under the age of 18 or are registering for a minor under the age of 18, do NOT complete this application. All minors under the age of 18 are eligible to receive a one-time Visitor Pass each time they visit campus.
If you do not wish to complete a volunteer application, you may still attend Dayspring activities on/off school property as a guest, while under the supervision of a Dayspring employee. If you wish to volunteer with our learners, please submit a volunteer application at least 7 business days prior to the event. Applications typically take 1-3 business days to process; however, some may take up to 14 business days. It is very important that the information you enter on the application matches your government issued identification card, including your full legal name. It is important that you provide a valid email address so you can be notified as to the status of your application, as well as future communications.
All information collected on the application will remain confidential and will not be shared outside of the volunteer program. If you have any questions about the application, please email backgroundscreening@dayspringacademy.org.We appreciate your support of Dayspring Academy and thank you for being a part of our school community. Volunteers and Guests are required to have their driver’s license or photo ID available whenever on campus as part of the campus sign-in process.Per section 943.04351, Florida Statute, volunteer applicants are subject to a background check against the national sexual offender/predator registry. An applicant who is found through background screening to be included in the FDLE sexual offender/predator registry, or who has been convicted of any crime involving moral turpitude, as defined by rule of the State Board of Education, or otherwise found ineligible for employment under s.1012.315, F.S., will not be approved as a volunteer.
Additionally, all applicants are required to pass a criminal background screening. The Pasco County District School Board policy requires you to disclose if you have ever been convicted of, or had adjudication withheld in, a criminal offense, other than a minor traffic violation, or if any criminal charges are pending. For purposes of the policy, "convicted" means there has been a determination of guilt as a result of a trial or the entry of a plea of guilty or nolo contendere, regardless of whether adjudication is withheld. Note that answering 'yes' does not immediately preclude you from volunteering, but failure to answer accurately and completely will delay the processing of your application and may result in denial.
Thank you,
