Thank you for choosing to become a CCSD volunteer! We appreciate your willingness to help the staff and students at our school and to support our excellent learning environment.
As a volunteer, you may come in contact with confidential student education records (such as grades, discipline records, IEPs, and 504 records). This information is typically protected from disclosure to third parties by state and federal privacy laws, and school board policy [Board Policy JRCB]. Staff members, as well as volunteers working under their direction, must be sensitive to the confidentiality of student information and must take every step to refrain from sharing protected and confidential information to third parties.
If you have specific questions for a staff member regarding a student, please find a private place to discuss your questions, so that your communications are not inadvertently overheard by others.
Additionally, as a CCSD volunteer, I understand that I must maintain appropriate and professional boundaries with all students at all times and treat all students with dignity and respect. CCSD Board Policies, including in particular Board Policies AC (Nondiscrimination) and GBEB (Staff Conduct), set the standards for maintaining professional boundaries with students.
If you have any questions about the application, please request to speak with a volunteer representative.
Thank you,
CCSD Volunteer Coordinator
