District Volunteer Application

We appreciate your interest in volunteering for the Weld County School District RE-4. Our district offers a variety of activities you may choose from when volunteering your time. Simply complete and submit a volunteer application and upon approval you will receive instructions on next steps.  Until you receive notification that you are approved, you may not perform any volunteer activities.

It is very important that the information you enter on the application matches your government issued identification card including your full legal name. It is important that you provide a valid email address so you can be notified as to the status of your application and for future communication.  All information collected on the application will remain confidential and not be shared outside the volunteer program.

If you are applying to be a volunteer coach, you must have an approved volunteer form signed by the Athletic Director or designee. This form will be required to be uploaded prior to submitting your application.

By submitting a volunteer application, you are agreeing to the expectations and volunteer guidelines listed below.

If you have any questions about the application, please request to speak with a volunteer representative. Thank you for volunteering with our District!

Thank you,

Laura Bulzomi, Director, Human Resources

By submitting a volunteer application, you are agreeing to the below expectations and volunteer guidelines:

All volunteering relationships established at the schools must take place with students on the school campus during school hours or at other authorized school activities only.

All volunteers must check-in at the school office.

Working closely with the school staff includes:

  • Following and accepting directions from school staff
  • Seeking help from the teacher, office or administration when you need additional information or instruction
  • Acknowledge that teachers or administration are responsible for discipline
  • Practicing patience and kindness
  • Honoring staff time by not speaking with a staff member regarding your own child. Please arrange a time to speak with a staff member regarding your child outside of the instructional day

Volunteers are expected to:

  • Sign in and wear an ID badge while in the building at all times
  • Wear appropriate attire in accordance with school policy
  • Show respect for all students and staff
  • Share concerns regarding students with school administration ONLY
  • Stay in the area of support during the volunteer shift
  • Maintain student privacy and are prohibited from taking any photos or videos of students while on school grounds

If you cannot make your scheduled volunteer time, please call the school so the staff will know you will not be there.  Please do not bring younger children to the school during your volunteer hours.  You will be asked to turn your cell phone ringer off while volunteering and discouraged from making personal calls (unless there is an emergency).

Ground rules for school district facilities

  • No smoking (includes e-cigarettes) or tobacco allowed
  • No weapons allowed
  • No drugs or alcohol allowed
  • Do not use school equipment for personal purposes
  • Do not administer or provide any medications, prescription or nonprescription, to students

Maintain student confidentiality

Volunteers are expected and required to keep all ‘student information’ that they obtain while working as a volunteer for the district confidential.  In fact, Federal Law strictly prohibits school districts and district volunteers from releasing any student information without parent/guardian permission.  Student information includes all academic, medical and personal information.  Disclosure of student information by a volunteer is a violation of the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act of 1974 (FERPA) and may subject the volunteer and the district to civil liability.
