We appreciate your interest in volunteering with Rio Rancho Public Schools. Our district offers a variety of activities you may choose from when volunteering your time. Simply complete and submit a volunteer application and upon approval, you will receive instructions on next steps.
It is very important that the information you enter on the application matches your government-issued identification card including your full legal name. It is important that you provide a valid email address so you can be notified as to the status of your application and for future communication. All information collected on the application will remain confidential and will not be shared outside the volunteer program.
NM State Legislature has passed some legislation that will require changes to our volunteer processes for Rio Rancho Public Schools. In the past, the school personnel act (HB431) required that school employees and contractors receive FBI background checks before working in the schools. This bill was changed to include school volunteers. Therefore, all volunteers will need to apply for the FBI background check starting June 14, 2019. NM State Legislature also passed House Bill128 which states; All school district personnel, school employees, SCHOOL VOLUNTEERS, contractors and contractors' employees shall be required to complete training in the detection and reporting of child abuse and neglect, ethical misconduct, professional responsibilities, sexual abuse and assault and substance abuse. Ensure a valid email address in on your application, as you will be sent information on how to complete the state required training. This training shall be completed prior to volunteering and is needed for application to be approved.
Thank you,
District Volunteer Coordinator
