The Caesar Rodney School District would like to welcome you as a new partner in the education of our district’s young people. It’s a big job, and an important one for all of us in this community! We are thrilled and thankful that you have chosen to join us.

As a volunteer, the time you offer is a gift to our students and our staff. You are the extra hand offering a high five of congratulations when a new skill is mastered, the extra smile that welcomes the “new kid” into the morning reading circle, the extra voice that speaks out on behalf of our students and teachers and the important work they do. You bring unique talents, skills and energies into our schools. Our students will learn a lot from you!

By providing your signature, you are agreeing to abide by the rules and regulations of the Caesar Rodney School District Volunteer Program. One or more of the volunteer activities you have selected may require you to provide your United States social security number so we can perform a criminal background check. Your social security number will only be used for this purpose and we do not retain this information.

Furthermore, your signature signifies that you attest to have taken a TB test within the past five years. Additionally, you attest that there is no reasonable cause for you to assume you have contracted TB or other communicable diseases in this time frame. These communicable diseases are inclusive, or related to, but not limited to the following: TB exposure; unexplained cough, fever, or night sweats; HIV; intravenous drug use; recent incarceration; homelessness; or COVID.

You are attesting that you are not in violation of your parole as a sex offender by entering school buildings or accessing school property where children are present.

Finally, while visiting any school in the district, you may have access to information that is considered confidential and may not be disclosed except as permitted or required by law and in agreement with school district processes and procedures. Improper disclosure of this information can cause damage to students. All information obtained through observations, written records, conversations, opportunities working with students in the classroom and school or any other means must be kept confidential.
