By providing your signature, you are agreeing
1) to abide by the rules and regulations of the District Volunteer Program.
2) to submit to a fingerprint check, if required. Parents and legal guardians usually do not have to be fingerprinted. All others are required to be fingerprinted by the district or submit a copy of a valid AZ DPS fingerprint clearance card. The fingerprinting process takes 3-4 weeks. You will not be able to volunteer until your application is approved.
3) Due to the tremendous responsibility the District has to its students and the community, all individuals that wish to volunteer in the schools are required to report if they have been convicted of or admitted to a crime, even if the conviction was subsequently dismissed, set aside, deferred, vacated, or expunged.
A conviction or pending trial will not necessarily prohibit one from serving as a volunteer. However, individuals that wish to be considered for a volunteer position and who are awaiting trial or have been convicted of any offense, other than a minor traffic violation not involving drugs or alcohol, must describe the offense in detail on a separate page, including the year and location of the offense. Return to the Documents Required page and upload your information before submitting. The length of time since the conviction and the circumstances of the offense will be considered in reviewing a conviction record. Applications that have been intentionally falsified will be denied.
Pursuant to A.R.S.13-3716, it is unlawful for a person who has been convicted of a dangerous crime against children as defined in section 13-604.01 or child abuse pursuant to section 13-3623, subsection A or subsection B, paragraph 1 to fail to give notice of the fact of the conviction to a school when applying for employment or volunteering for service.
