The Schools of McKeel Academy Volunteer Application

Thank you for your willingness to serve and support our schools. Whether your student(s) attends McKeel Academy Central (MAC), South McKeel Academy (SMA) or McKeel Academy of Technology (MAT), our schools offer a variety of volunteer opportunities to partner together in support of our students, teachers and staff.

The Schools of McKeel Academy values student safety and security. Any person(s) desiring to volunteer (must be 21 years of age or older) within our system of schools must submit a volunteer application and receive approval prior to participating in any volunteer opportunities.  Please allow a few minutes to complete the online application noting that you will receive an email notification of approval/decline within three (3) weeks. 

IMPORTANT:  
• Application fee is $39.00 (this fee covers your background check); Application deadline is Monday, November 13, 2023

• Applicants will be required to undergo a criminal background screen every five (5) years from the date of approval.

• To meet the required search criteria of Section 943.04351, Florida Statutes, for information regarding sexual predators and sexual offenders, schools must complete a criminal background screen. Accordingly, applicants will not be approved as school volunteers for the following reasons:

1. Convicted of or had adjudication withheld for any felony offense at any time.
2. Convicted of or had adjudication withheld for any misdemeanor within the past 3 years.
3. Any pending criminal charges of a crime that would disqualify the applicant from employment with The Schools of McKeel Academy.

Please review the qualifications carefully before submitting your application. Once submitted, refunds cannot be provided for any declined applications.

It is imperative that the information you enter on the application matches your government issued identification card including your full legal name.  A valid email address is important so you can be notified of the status of your application and future communication.  The Schools of McKeel Academy is subject to laws governing the release of public records including Florida Statutes Chapter 119.

**Active and sworn law enforcement officers with arresting power are EXEMPT from paying the background check fee, please email volunteer@mckeelschools.com to request a volunteer application.
