District Volunteer Application

You must review the Bullying& Harassment Information for Substitutes and Volunteers and the Background Guidelines prior to completing a volunteer application. 

We appreciate your interest in volunteering with Lake County Schools. Our district offers a variety of activities you may choose from when volunteering your time. Simply complete and submit a volunteer application and upon approval you will receive instructions on next steps.

It is very important that the information you enter on the application matches your government issued identification card including your FULL LEGAL NAME. It is important that you provide a valid email address so you can be notified as to the status of your application and for future communication. All information collected on the application will remain confidential and not be shared outside the volunteer program.

Failure to provide all required information and documentation will result in a DENIED application.

Note: Charter school volunteer applicants will need to contact the charter school directly for their individual volunteer approval process.

Level 2 volunteers are individuals who have completed fingerprint-based background checks (review of criminal history record) and are authorized to work in a voluntary capacity in unsupervised settings with students. To be eligible, a Level 2 Volunteer must complete Level 2 background screening and fingerprinting and must receive approval from the school district. The school district reserves the right to deny volunteer admittance into a school for any reason.

Volunteer Levels

• If you are willing to supervise students WITH AND WITHOUT the supervision of a Lake County Schools employee, select the 'Level 1 & 2' function option.
• If you are willing to supervise students ONLY WITH the supervision of a Lake County Schools employee, select the 'Level 1' function option.

SELECT ONLY ONE FUNCTION

Selecting more than one function will cause delays in processing. If you need assistance determining the volunteer level, please reach out to the School Volunteer Coordinator. 

If choosing 'Level 1', please verify with your school if they will allow Level 1 volunteers to participate in the activity you are wanting to volunteer.

The volunteer function/level selected requires additional documentation to be submitted with the application. DOWNLOAD the appropriate form(s) based on function selected, complete and upload form(s) back to the application. Forms can also be located on the volunteer district webpage. 

Failure to upload appropriate documentation will result in a DENIED application.

Your volunteer application has been submitted and will be reviewed per the district’s volunteer policy. You will receive a confirmation email from DoNotReply@Raptor.com that the application has been submitted. 

Below are the next steps in processing if you have selected the volunteer function/options of ‘Level 1 & 2’ or ‘Athletics’:

1. Your application will be reviewed in the order submitted. The following will be completed prior to receiving next steps:

   1. Acknowledgement form reviewed for completion

   2. Dru Sjodin National Sex Offender Public Website search completed

   3. AHCA Clearinghouse database search completed

2. You will receive an email notification from the Raptor system OR Volunteers@lake.k12.fl.us regarding your application status and/or next steps.

   1. If a fingerprint appointment is required, you will be provided with the instructions to schedule an appointment.

Please check your email inbox as provided on the application as well as any Junk/Spam folders for status updates and/or next steps. 

NOTE:  Due to an extreme high volume, applications could take up to 45+ days to be processed.
