District Volunteer Application

We appreciate your interest in volunteering with Lake County Schools. Our district offers a variety of activities you may choose from when volunteering your time. Simply complete and submit a volunteer application and upon approval you will receive instructions on next steps.

It is very important that the information you enter on the application matches your government issued identification card including your FULL LEGAL NAME. It is important that you provide a valid email address so you can be notified as to the status of your application and for future communication. All information collected on the application will remain confidential and not be shared outside the volunteer program.

Volunteers will be reviewed based on the same hiring guidelines as employees. Please click here for more information on the background guidelines.

Note: Charter school volunteer applicants will need to contact the charter school directly for their individual volunteer approval process.

Level 2 volunteers are individuals who have completed fingerprint-based background checks (review of criminal history record) and are authorized to work in a voluntary capacity in unsupervised settings with students. To be eligible, a Level 2 Volunteer must complete Level 2 background screening and fingerprinting and must receive approval from the school district. The school district reserves the right to deny volunteer admittance into a school for any reason.

Volunteer Levels

If you are willing to supervise students WITH AND WITHOUT the supervision of a Lake County Schools employee, select the 'Level 1 & 2' function option.
If you are willing to supervise students ONLY WITH the supervision of a Lake County Schools employee, select the 'Level 1' function option.

The volunteer function/level selected requires additional documentation to be submitted with the application. Download the appropriate form(s), complete and upload back to the application.

Failure to upload appropriate documentation will result in a DENIED application. All documents must be completed and uploaded to continue in the volunteer application review process.

PLEASE NOTE: Applications could take up to 45+ days to be processed depending on the volume of applications received. You will receive an email regarding your volunteer status.
