Thank you for your interest in volunteering with the Leander Independent School District (LISD). To ensure the safety of our students, all new volunteers must complete a volunteer application and a background check.

PLEASE READ BEFORE YOU BEGIN

Most applicants should NOT select “Leander ISD Staff” or “Leander ISD Student.”

Only choose these options if you are currently employed by LISD or enrolled as an LISD student.
Selecting these incorrectly will delay or result in denial of your application.

Employees AND students must use their LISD district email address.

New Volunteers

Create a volunteer account.
Complete the application.
Your information will be used for a background check.

Once approved, you can print a volunteer badge when visiting a campus.

Current LISD Staff or Students

Select LISD Student or LISD District Employee in both Affiliations and Functions.
DO NOT select any other Functions.
Employees AND students must use their LISD district email address.

Campus Visits

The volunteer application is separate from the Raptor visitor check-in system.
All visitors and volunteers must show a driver’s license when signing in at a campus.

Please note: An email will be sent to the email address entered to inform you of the status of your application. If you do not have access to email, please enter volunteer@leanderisd.org and a district administrator will call you regarding the status.

You will only appear as an approved volunteer for the campuses you select. If you do not select a campus, school staff will not see you in their volunteer roster, and you may not be eligible to volunteer there until your application is updated.

You may also receive volunteer-related communications, announcements, and opportunities from the campuses you select, so be sure to choose every campus where you plan to serve.

Please do not select "District Volunteer" unless you are a current Leander ISD Board of Trustees member or a Leander Educational Excellence Foundation (LEEF) Board member. This option is reserved exclusively for those individuals.

To be approved as a Medical Chaperone, volunteers must complete the following steps every year.

Volunteer Coordinator
If you are an elected Volunteer Coordinator for a PTA, PTO, or Booster Club (not a room parent), download the Volunteer Coordinator Confidentiality Agreement, sign and reupload it by clicking the blue button below.

HEROES Mentor:
All mentors, whether new or previously trained, must submit the Initial Interest Form. Once the form has been completed, you will receive an email with information about the required online training. Additional information about the program can be found here.

Anyone whose record indicates a felony or misdemeanor conviction in an area that causes concern for the safety and well-being of children and families will not be accepted as a volunteer.

I agree to the terms and conditions listed in the volunteer guidelines. I understand in order to receive communications regarding specific campus events, my contact information and function selections will be uploaded to a school volunteer website hosted by Raptor Technologies.

I certify that there are no legal restrictions to access my child, or regarding any student or employee at Leander ISD. If any legal restriction is put in place, I understand that I must notify the principal at my assigned campus and Kristina Boren, the District Volunteer Coordinator.

The review process can vary anywhere between 3-7 business days, depending on your background check.
