We appreciate your interest in volunteering in the Alachua County Public Schools. We are so glad that you want to help! If you don't know where you want to volunteer or what type of volunteering you are interested in, it is recommended that you contact the district School Volunteer Office before you complete the volunteer application because your application requires a school selection. (Volunteers@gm.sbac.edu/352-955-7250 x 6411). Please take a minute to scroll down through these directions, including the criminal history directions. IF you have a criminal driving offense on your record, you will need to check Yes.
If you know where you want to volunteer, complete the volunteer application and submit all information requested. It is very important that the information you enter on the application matches your government-issued identification card (e.g. your driver's license) including your full legal name. It is also important that you provide YOUR valid email address so you can be notified as to the status of your application and for future communication.
You are required to complete a new application every school year. All applications for the 2024-25 school year expired on June 30, 2024. As part of standard safety practices, all volunteers and visitors must provide a photo ID each time they visit an Alachua County Public School or facility. A national check of the sexual predator registries is completed each time a volunteer checks into our facilities. Other criminal history websites are checked as warranted.
Please answer all legal questions completely and honestly to ensure that you will be eligible to volunteer. You may refer to the information below to answer the questions. Failure to properly disclose this information can result in application denial AND you will need to re-apply with a corrected application in order to be considered.
For purposes of School Board policy, convicted means there has been a determination of guilt as a result of a trial or the entry of a plea of nolo contendere, regardless of whether adjudication is withheld, entered into a deferred prosecution or pre-trial diversion agreement, have charges now pending against you, or have sealed or expunged records.
This includes CRIMINAL TRAFFIC offenses like DUIs, failure to have the proper license (expired and suspended licenses), etc.
TIPS FOR COMPLETING THE APPLICATION:
*Enter your full name and address as it appears on your driver's license.
*Please choose only the school(s) where you would like to volunteer. If you choose multiple schools, you will receive emails from multiple schools. If you have a child(ren) in school, choose each child's school and list all children's names and grades.
*If you are experiencing problems finishing your application in Raptor, try a different internet browser.
*Make sure you scroll down to the end of each section of the application to complete all requested information. At the end of the application, you will be asked to press submit after the "I am not a robot" verification. You will receive an email update letting you know that we are processing your application. If you don't get one, it is likely that you didn't finish the application process.
