Thank you for your interest in volunteering with Alachua County Public Schools! We are processing applications as quickly as possible - most will be processed within 3 business days.
To ensure a smooth application process, please consider contacting the district School Volunteer Office if you’re unsure where or how you’d like to volunteer. We can provide guidance before you complete your application.
When completing your application, please use a computer or i-pad to ensure that you can see all of the questions clearly. Also, be sure all information matches your government-issued ID, including your full legal name. It’s crucial to provide a valid email address for notifications and future communications regarding your application status.
For transparency and eligibility, please answer all legal questions truthfully and thoroughly. Because you will be volunteering with children, we are required by law to ask you about any criminal history you might have. We must ask you if you have any convictions of felonies and/or misdemeanors which could include criminal traffic offenses such as DUIs, driving with a suspended license, drag racing, speeding more than 30 mph over the speed limit, etc. Florida law defines “convicted”; as meaning a determination of guilt as a result of a trial or the entry of a plea of nolo contendere, regardless of whether adjudication is withheld or whether you have had records sealed or expunged. Please make sure to check the box on the application under functions indicating if this applies to you. The fact you may have a criminal history does not, in and of itself, mean you cannot volunteer. We are required by law to consider the nature of the offense, how long ago the offense occurred, and other factors.
If you have any warrants, or have criminal charges pending, or are a party to an incomplete pre-trial diversion program or deferred prosecution agreement, you will not be able to volunteer until those matters are resolved to the satisfaction of the district.
Remember, applications need to be renewed each school year, and all 2023-24 applications expired on June 30, 2024. As part of safety protocols, volunteers and visitors may be asked to present a photo ID each time they visit. Additionally, a national check of sexual predator registries is conducted upon check-in each visit.
If you encounter any issues with the application process in Raptor, try using a different internet browser.
Thank you again for applying. We look forward to welcoming you to our team!
