Please enter your information completely and accurately. It is very important that the information you enter on the application matches your government issued identification, including your full legal name.  For best results, please submit your application on a computer. The application format may not be compatible with your mobile device, and some fields may appear out of order.

Potential volunteers must complete a new application each school year.  Our year starts July 1 and runs through June 30.  People who submit an application after July 1 will remain active in our system through June 30, and will NOT need to submit a new application until July 1 of the next year.

FOR CHARTER SCHOOLS ONLY:  If your school is not listed on the school preferences page under charter schools, please do not complete this application.  You should contact your school directly to submit your volunteer application.

Per section 943.04351, Florida Statute, volunteer applicants are subject to a background check against the national sexual offender/predator registry.  An applicant who is found through background screening to be included in the FDLE sexual offender/predator registry, or who has been convicted of any crime involving moral turpitude, as defined by rule of the State Board of Education, or otherwise found ineligible for employment under s.1012.315, F.S., will not be approved as a volunteer.

Additionally, all applicants are required to pass a criminal background screening.  Board policy requires you to disclose if you have ever been convicted of, or had adjudication withheld in, a criminal offense, other than a minor traffic violation, or if any criminal charges are pending.  For purposes of the policy, "convicted" means there has been a determination of guilt as a result of a trial or the entry of a plea of guilty or nolo contendere, regardless of whether adjudication is withheld.  Note that answering 'yes' does not immediately preclude you from volunteering, but failure to answer accurately and completely will delay the processing of your application and may result in denial.

An email address must be provided for approval notification and future communication.  All records are subject to the Florida Sunshine Law unless specifically exempted.

FRS Retirees - If you are a retiree from the Florida Retirement System and have been retired less than one year, you must call FRS to confirm your eligibility to volunteer. Call (844) 377-1888, ask for the Enrollment Department.  Once you have confirmed that you are eligible to volunteer, you can complete the volunteer application below.

If you have any questions about the application, please contact the volunteer programs office at (813) 794-2207.
